In short
Lot size on Delta Exchange India = your ₹ risk ÷ ₹85 per $ ÷ the loss of one lot at your stop, rounded down. One lot's loss is the price move (|entry − stop| × contract size) plus entry and exit fees — 0.05% taker or 0.02% maker on each leg's notional — plus 18% GST on those fees. Fees matter most on tight stops: risking ₹2,000 on BTCUSD from 100,000 to 99,950, sizing on price alone gives 470 lots and a ₹6,710.42 loss (3.36× the budget); with fees counted it is 140 lots and ₹1,998.85.
How to calculate your lot size on Delta Exchange
1. Pick the contract and direction
Choose BTCUSD, ETHUSD or SOLUSD — or search every live Delta India perpetual, gold (PAXGUSD) included — then Long or Short. Lot size, tick, fees and max leverage come from Delta India's contract data.
2. Set your capital and risk in ₹
Enter your capital and how much you are willing to lose on this trade — as a % of capital or a fixed rupee amount.
3. Enter entry and stop loss prices
Use USD prices as shown on Delta. Pick Maker or Taker for each leg; stop orders usually fill as taker.
4. Choose leverage and read the result
Leverage changes the margin, not the risk. The card shows the lots to open, the ₹ loss at your stop and a warning if the stop sits near liquidation.
Why fees and GST change your position size
Delta charges a fee on the notional of each leg — 0.05% as taker, 0.02% as maker — plus 18% GST on that fee. With a tight stop, those fees can be most of the loss.
Size the trade without them and a “risk ₹2,000” trade can lose more than three times that.
| Method | Lots | Loss at stop | × budget |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price only (no fees) | 470 | ₹6,710.42 | 3.36× |
| Fees + GST included | 140 | ₹1,998.85 | ≤ 1.00× |
Worked example: a tight stop on BTCUSD
Long BTCUSD, risk ₹2,000, entry 100,000 (taker), stop 99,950 (taker). One lot is 0.001 BTC, so each lot loses $0.050 on price and $0.118 on fees + GST at the stop. Sizing on price alone gives 470 lots and a ₹6,710.42 loss; with fees counted the answer is 140 lots and ₹1,998.85. We checked every one of these numbers against Delta's own fee calculator — see the methodology.
Does Delta Exchange have a stop-loss position size calculator?
No. Delta's in-app Trade Size tool sizes from entry price, margin and leverage, and Delta's help centre notes that “trading fees and funding payments are not included” and that it works only for isolated margin in futures (Delta Exchange calculator features). Its fee calculator works forward from a size you already chose. PerpScale is an independent, free calculator that works backwards from your stop:
| Tool | Starts from | Fees + GST | Answers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delta in-app Trade Size | Entry, margin, leverage | Not included | Lots your margin can open |
| Delta fee calculator | A size you chose | Included | Fees, GST and breakeven for that size |
| PerpScale lot size calculator | ₹ risk, entry, stop | Included | Lots to open and the ₹ loss at your stop |
We match Delta's fee calculator within $0.01 (comparison table). More on the difference: Trade Size vs lot size.

FAQ
Divide ₹2,000 by the loss of one lot at your stop — price move plus fees and GST — and round down. On BTCUSD long from 100,000, taker in and out: a 50-point stop gives 140 lots, a 250-point stop 63 lots and a 1000-point stop 21 lots. Sizing the 50-point trade on price alone gives 470 lots and loses ₹6,710.42.
lots = floor(₹ risk ÷ 85 ÷ loss per lot in $), where loss per lot = |entry − stop| × 0.001 BTC + (entry × entry fee rate + stop × exit fee rate) × 0.001 BTC × 1.18 (the 18% GST). Fee rates are 0.05% taker and 0.02% maker; stop orders usually fill as taker. Quick check: taker in and out costs about 0.118% of the position value, so position value ≈ risk ÷ (stop distance % + 0.118%).
No. Delta's in-app calculator has a Trade Size tool that works from entry price, margin and leverage — your stop loss is not an input — and Delta's help centre says trading fees and funding payments are not included and that it covers isolated-margin futures only. Delta's fee calculator works forward from a size you already chose. PerpScale is an independent, free calculator (not affiliated with Delta) that sizes backwards from your stop and ₹ risk, with fees and GST included.
1 lot is 0.001 BTC on BTCUSD, 0.01 ETH on ETHUSD and 1 SOL on SOLUSD. At a BTC price of $100,000, one BTCUSD lot is worth $100, or ₹8,500.00 at Delta's ₹85/$ rate.
Yes. Delta Exchange India adds 18% GST on trading fees (and on liquidation fees). A 0.05% taker fee costs 0.059% once GST is added. This calculator includes GST on both the entry and the exit fee.
Usually the size ignored fees. They are charged on the full position value, not on the distance to your stop: taker in and out costs about 0.118% of the position value with GST, so on any stop closer than that the fees are bigger than the price loss. In the worked example above, ignoring fees gives 470 lots and a ₹6,710.42 loss on a ₹2,000 budget (3.36×). Slippage on the stop-market fill and liquidation before the stop can add to it.
No. Your risk is set by the stop distance and the number of lots; leverage only changes how much margin you post. Higher leverage does bring liquidation closer, so the calculator warns you when your stop is near the estimated liquidation zone.
A fixed rate of ₹85 per US dollar for display and conversion. Positions are margined and settled in USD.
No. Funding payments, slippage and the settlement fee are not included: funding depends on how long you hold and slippage on market conditions. Leave some room in your budget for them.
